Nokia to launch new Lumia 1020 with a power-packed 41MP camera
While the camera on Nokia’s flagship Lumia 920 is more than satisfying (especially in low-light conditions), we wouldn’t complain if a better device came along. And it looks like the Finnish manufacturer is on the verge of launching a new flagship device with a 41 MP camera!
Code named EOS and 909 in tech discussions, it is very likely that this new device will become the new flagship of the Nokia Lumia series. What has got the sparks flying around is a set of photos that Microsoft Windows Phone Manager Joe Belfiore has posted on his Flickr account.
THE CAMERA TECHNOLOGY
No one’s a stranger to Nokia’s 41 MP camera as it has already been employed in its Symbian based Pureview 808 handset. So ideally the camera on this new Lumia device should have the same performance right? Well, not really. For starters, this new device will have a 2GB RAM and of course the WP8 experience to go along with it. Add to that Optical Image Stabilization, a larger sensor and f/2.2 aperture, and you have a photographer’s delight. The sensor is supposedly going to take images in 32 MP and 5 MP at 16:9 simultaneously.
A SPECULATIVE RUNDOWN OF THE SPECS
Display: 4.5 inches
Screen Resolution: 720p
RAM: 2 GB
Processor: Quad-core Snapdragon 800
Memory: 32 GB
Camera: 41 MP with OIS and f/2.2 aperture
The most powerful Lumia yet is scheduled for a July 11th launch with “Zoom Reinvented” invites sent to major tech publications. And if these specs are anything to go by from a shutterbug’s perspective, then I will most definitely not blame future owners for going photo-crazy!
