The Best Dresses of Oscar 2013
Carlos Dang

Here we are again, the Oscar – the glamour,  the suits and dresses, the awkward hugs, the boring speeches and the wardrobe malfunction – it’s all back, for one night only. And as always, the Red Carpet is a perfect opportunity for designers to showcase their talents in the couture dress making business. Let’s look at some of the most stunning women on the planet right now and their lustrous gowns.

Amy Adams

The actress rocked a stunning tulle layered Oscar De La Renta gown, with a fitted bodice and a massive skirt. Look at her striking a pose for the camera like a goddess! Amy is nominated for the Best Supporting Actress category for her role in The Master. Though she understandably lost to Anne Hathaway, the girl’s future is as bright as a Northern Star.

Anne Hathaway

Wear a minimal ivory Prada sheath and Tiffany & Co. necklace, Anne Hatthaway confidently strolled down the Red Carpet to ultimately claim her first ever Oscar statue for her heartbreaking performance in Les Miserables as Fantine.

As beautiful as the dress is, her perky prominent chest was somehow  branded by the Internet as this year’s Angelina’s Leg. The Ann Hathaway’s Nipples Twitter was an instant hit with its racy tweets such as an open call for Les Nipperables. The poor girl can’t take a break. But she won an Oscar. I doubt she’s gonna lose any sleep over this.

Jennifer Lawrence

The sweetheart of the internet, Jennifer Lawrence donned a Christian Dior Haute Couture dress and Chopard jewelry. The dress has exaggerated sections of flared fish tail skirt, making her look like someone stepping out from a fairy tale. J-L won Best Actress for her performance as a mysterious girl with a mental disorder in the Silver Lining Playbook. The dress proved to be a difficult challenge as Jennifer fell on her way to the podium to receive her award, but no matter, Fashion Over Comfort.

Emmanuelle Riva

As the oldest ever in the Best Actress nominee category for her touching performance in Amour, Emmanuelle River drew a lot of attention from the crowd, and rightly so with her solid color custom-made Lanvin gown and statement necklace. The French legend once again proves the classic and elegant fashion sense of french women while still maintaining a current and fresh perspective with her red lipstick and neatly trimmed hairstyle. A true icon.

Jessica Chastain

Jessica, Jennifer and Anne are proving to be the trinity of Hollywood’s rising actresses. The actress’ rise to stardom has been nothing short of extraordinary with her continuous involvement in box-office hits as well as award-winning films. For a second year in a row, she is nominated again for the Oscar for her portrayal of the CIA operative that brought down Bin Laden.

And for walking down the road to the Dolby Theater this year, she chose a golden Armani Prive to be accompanied by Deco diamond earrings and bracelet by Harry Winston, evoking an olden Hollywood era with an abundance of class and style.
